The colder months of ice and snow are often neglected when considering romance because they are so often compared with steamier nights when the air is warm and the clothing more revealing. Winter, however, offers an array of possibilities for romance which can only be enjoyed during this time of year.

Winters of long ago were a dangerous time for many societies around the world. A time when warmth was difficult to come by, food was scarce and roads were treacherous presented quite a problem for many. Though the winters of today may not be problem free, most of the old concerns of have been wiped out by our society’s modern approach to fighting back the ice and snow.

Despite the very different perception people of today might have about winter, some of the oldest traditions during the colder months still remain useful, especially when it comes to dating.
